There is no significant data for the bond market today; crude oil, and stock indexes improving into the weekend. Next week the FOMC meeting starts on Tuesday, the policy statement and Warsh’s press conference on Wednesday. Consensus is no rate increase until the September FOMC meeting. Inflation remains the focus for Fed chief Warsh; his press conference, and changes in how the Fed talks to the public is new but inflation still the center piece.
At 9:45 am the July flash Composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) expected 54.2 reported 53.6. Manufacturing expected 54.3, reported 53.8. Service sector expected 51.2, reported 53.6.
At 10 am June new home sales expected 613K, reported 628K.
