MBS prices yesterday were down 20 bps, early this morning down 2 more.
There isn’t any direct news today with markets looking toward data later this week; ADP private jobs tomorrow (+20K from +42K the prior week), Thursday weekly jobless claims (225K from 216K the previous week), Friday PCE inflation for September, old data but its an inflation gauge that will get a lot of focus (overall month/month 0.3%, year/year 2.8%; core PCE month/month +0.3%, year/year +2.9%). If the report is as expected it will show inflation didn’t increase from August. Also, in the mix Friday September personal income (+0.4% personal spending +0.4%).
At 9:30 am the DJIA opened +131, NASDAQ +105, S&P +21. 10 year at 9:30 am 4.11% +2 bps. FNMA 5.5 30 year coupon at 9:30 am +2 bps from yesterday’s close and unchanged from 9:30 am yesterday.
