The headline this week, Secretary of Treasury Bessent announced Treasury will increase its buybacks for long dated treasuries (10s and 30s). On the announcement Wednesday rates declined but the next day, yesterday, the improvement reversed wiping out the gains.
The only data today, and it isn’t a major mover, the preliminary August PMI manufacturing and service indexes, manufacturing forecasts 53.7, services 53.8; reported manufacturing index 53.2, service sector 56.8.
