April employment. NFP payrolls expected at 63K reported +115K, March jobs revised from 178K to 185K; private jobs estimates +67K, increased 123K, March revised to 190K from 186K. The unemployment rate unchanged at 4.3%, month/month average hourly earnings thought to be +0.3% dropped to +0.2%. Year/year earnings forecasts +3.8% reported +3.6% but up from 3.5% in March.
Nothing new on the US proposal to open the Strait. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US is expecting a response today from Iran on the proposal to end the war. “We should know something today... We’re expecting a response from them.”
Treasuries and MBSs opened better this morning although still trading in very tight ranges with no response from Iran on the deal to open the Strait.
