This morning crude oil at $100.00/barrel, the high overnight $118.00. Stock indexes in early futures trading, the DJIA -472, NASDAQ -218, S&P -54.
Mid-East oil producers are cutting back oil production because their storage tanks are full and the countries can’t safely ship oil with the Hormuz Straight essentially closed.
This morning the London Stock Exchange Group reporting that money markets currently price in 36.5 basis points of rate cuts by the Federal Reserve this year, and they anticipate 50 basis points of interest-rate hikes by the European Central Bank. Before the start of the war, markets had priced about 65 basis points of Fed rate cuts and no change in ECB policy rates.
There are key US inflation releases this week, regardless of how they come out its data that precedes the current situations.
