At 8:30 am ET August producer prices month/month +0.4% and July revised from 0.0% to +0.1%, in line with estimates but the biggest increase in three months. Core PPI (ex-food and energy) increased 0.2% from July in August, slowing from the upwardly revised 0.3% increase, market expectations were +0.3%. Year/year core +4.6%.
Also at 8:30 am, weekly jobless claims continue to show employment holding well, forecasts were +208K claims, reported at 206K. Continuing claims, a gauge of outstanding unemployment, eased by 1,000 to 1,774,000 in the last week of August, below expectations of 1,780,000.
At 10 am August existing home sales, expected at 3.97 million from 4.06 million; reported 3.98 million. Year/year -1.2% from +0.7% in July.
Tomorrow more crucial data, August CPI will hit along with August Treasury budget.
