This morning the 10 year note started lower at 4.96% -4 bps. FNMA 6.0 30 year coupon began +23 bps.
Stock indexes last Friday were basically unchanged, this morning the indexes in the futures market were stronger with oil prices lower.
There are no major economic reports this week, traders will watch three Treasury auctions, tomorrow $69B 2 year note, Wednesday $70B 5 year note, Thursday $44B of 7 year notes. The notable data this week is on Thursday and Friday. Thursday weekly claims (204K from 196K the week before), August new home sales (681K from 607K in July). Friday August durable goods orders (month/month -0.4%), Final University of Michigan consumer sentiment index (47.8 same a mid-month).
The UN General Assembly begins tomorrow in New York.
Crude oil price lower this morning. Technically the 10 year note now at its 20 day moving average.
