Still nothing from Congress on the shutdown. It is now 30 days and counting. More paychecks being missed and as of tomorrow the SNAP food program will run out of money. Air traffic controllers are beginning to stay home and flight delays are increasing to the extent airline executives are directly warning Congress to act.
More missed key data this morning, September PCE inflation, September personal income and spending, Q3 employment cost index.
At 9:30 am the DJIA opened +73, NASDAQ +326, S&P +45. 10 year at 9:30 am 4.09% -1 bp. FNMA 5.5 30 year coupon at 9:30 am +4 bps from yesterday and +11 bps from 9:30 am yesterday.
At 9:45 am October Chicago PM index thought to be 42.0 increased to 43.8.
