December 14th, 2018 3:42 PM by Richard Sardella MLO.100007700/NMLS 233568

The 2019 VA loan limit increased to $484,350 from $453,100, except in 199 high cost counties where they are higher. This represents a 6.9% increase this year. For comparison there are 3,234 counties and county equivalents. The maximum conforming VA loan limits for mortgages acquired by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are determined by the The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

For many Colorado counties, the new VA Loan Limit will be $561,200, higher in some areas like Summit at $625,500 and even higher in areas as Garfield and Routt at $718,750.

The 2019 loan limits are effective immediately.  However, loans using these new loan limits my not close until January 1, 2019 or thereafter.
